Capture form vs "request information" link — which one do I send?¶
In short: Send the Donor Capture Form link to brand-new donors who aren't in your system yet — it's a single public link, and their entries arrive as submissions to review. Use Request Information for an existing donor — it's a personal per-donor link you email or WhatsApp so they can check and correct their own details.
Which one to use¶
| Use the Donor Capture Form when… | Use Request Information when… |
|---|---|
| The person is not yet a donor in ActiveDonor. | The donor already exists in your system. |
| You want one public link to share widely (website, social, QR). | You want a personal link for one specific donor. |
| You want people to add themselves. | You want a donor to update their existing details. |
Both send the donor a no-login form, and both hold the result for you to review before anything changes.
Sending the public capture form (new donors)¶
- Open Settings → Donors → Forms.
- Tick Enable New Donor Capture Form? and click Save.
- Use Copy to copy the public link (in the form
https://{your-charity}.ad.org.za/d) and share it. Submissions land on the Donor Responses page for you to save.
Sending a request to an existing donor¶
- Open the donor's profile.
- Click Manage, then Request Info.
- Send the personal link by Copy, Open, WhatsApp or E-mail. The link is valid for 7 days.
📌 Note: The capture form is one shared public link; the Request Information link is unique to each donor and pre-fills their current details.
